Common questions about StorePilot AI
Answered honestly: everything merchants ask before joining the waitlist.
The basics
What is StorePilot AI?
An AI conversion-rate-optimization agent for Shopify. It watches how shoppers behave, detects what's costing you sales, builds a fix, runs an honest A/B test, and helps you publish the winner, without a CRO team.
Who is it for?
Shopify merchants, marketers, founders, and agency CRO managers. It's business-oriented, not developer-oriented: no jargon, no raw event dumps.
How is it different from analytics, heatmaps, or A/B tools?
Those give you data and leave you to figure it out. StorePilot does the thinking: behavior to specific fix to generated variant to honest test to recommended decision. It's an AI CRO expert living inside your store, not another dashboard.
Safety & trust
Can it break my live store?
No. Storefront changes go through theme app extensions (app blocks) that are reversible and backed up. You preview before publish, and one-click restore undoes anything. A pre-launch gate checks rendering, Core Web Vitals, and your brand rules.
Does it edit my theme code?
Never destructively. It injects controlled, reversible app blocks and keeps a backup of the original state.
Is my shopper data handled responsibly?
Tracking uses sandboxed Web Pixels with consent and privacy built in, never injected scripts. The goal is understanding intent and failure, not hoarding analytics.
Will it publish changes without asking me?
No. StorePilot is approval-first: it recommends, you approve. (A future Autopilot will handle only low-risk changes like button copy, and always with your permission.)
Testing & results
I don't have much traffic. Does it still work?
Yes, this is a key differentiator. For low-traffic stores it uses apply-and-measure (before/after with a holdback) plus cross-store priors, and always shows the realistic time-to-result at your traffic level. You won't be stuck in a permanent 'not enough data yet.'
How do you avoid false 'winners'?
Minimum-traffic and significance thresholds are enforced, no early winners are declared, and results are segmented by device and visitor type. Revenue per visitor is the primary metric, so a win means real money.
How do you estimate projected revenue?
Own-data-first, with a clear confidence word (exploratory, likely, strong) and a 'how we estimate this' explanation, never a generic benchmark dressed up as a forecast.
Brand & control
Will it suggest spammy tactics like fake countdowns?
Only if you allow them. You set a brand and approach profile that controls which tactic families (urgency, promotions, popups, social proof, trust, layout) are permitted. If urgency is off, you'll never get a countdown timer.
Can my team approve changes (Shopify Plus)?
Yes. There's an approver role and a send-for-sign-off flow for larger organizations.
Can agencies use it across many client stores?
Yes. Per-store friction detection and test generation are automated, each store respects its own brand profile, and approval-first keeps clients in control.
